I'm enquiring about a loved one but they're reluctant to meet with a psychologist. What can I do?
I have tried therapy before and it didn’t work so why should I try again?
My health insurance will only cover part of the session cost?
My health insurance has run out or is capped and will not cover any further sessions?
What happens if I need to cancel or rearrange an appointment?
Can my partner/spouse or family member come to my first appointment with me?
How will my personal data be stored and used by The Mindworks?
Most people are unsure about what to expect when they meet with a psychologist. We don't need to know EVERYTHING about you in order to be of help. You don't need to answer or reveal anything that you don't want to. We have a set of specialist skills and years of experience which often means we're accurate at hypothesising what you may be feeling and thinking, but we can't read minds.
Psychological therapy is a talking treatment; it requires a conversation between two people with the aim of using the expertise of one and the experience of the other to help improve health and wellbeing, and realise potential.
If we believe that you do not require therapy or if we are not able or best placed to help you, we will discuss this with you and advise you of the alternatives if needed.
